Coordination

The regional coordination bodies in Kumanovo and Gostivar regularly realised their current activities. The reports from the meetings were distributed to the participants.

Psychosocial support

Medzasi, SAZM, OOZM and ROZM "Daja" continually work on providing psychosocial support to displaced children and women.

Other activities

Medzasi for second time organized a visit to the theatre for displaced children. They also organized visit to the Zoo in Skopje.

Ad. 2

Artemis Peric emphasized the inappropriate congditions of living of the newly born babies
and their mothers as a problem and the institutions and organizations to take adequate measures for improving the conditions of living of the vulnerable categories of displaced ersons.

Memedali Rahmani, Mesecina, said that the cooperation among the domestic and international organizations and the flow of information is another problem. UNHCR's applications for reconstruction of objects has been mentioned where the domestic organizations had not been informed. Problem is also the neglecting of the inhabitants of the Tetovo suburbs, Koltuk, Drenovec and Potok where food and hygiene products aid is necessary, as well as aid for the villages in Gorna Reka (94 displaced families in Gostivar, while 54 families are in the villages). The access to the villages is not possible beyond the village of Tanuse, because of incomplete demining. Two school buildings and a mosque have been damaged and several houses burnt.

Bajram Sulejmani, Natyra, said that people in the Lipkovo region return to their homes and asked the authorities for sooner opening of the closed roads from the region of Lipkovo towards Kumanovo and Skopje. He also emphasized that in this region there is shortage of basic food supplies (flour, oil, salt and sugar), as well as plastic sheets for the roofs of the damaged houses, and sleeping sheets.

Proposals from these issues

  1. The Coordination Body for Crisis Management to organize convoy for the displaced persons from the region of Gorna Reka as well as representatives of humanitarian organizations in order to evaluate the situation.

  2. The NGO Humanitarian Coordination representatives to visit the Tetovo and Lipkovo crisis regions.

After the discussions were resumed the following

Conclusions

  1. Pay toll exemption.
It is necessary to ask the Ministry of Transport and Communications to issue a receipt for pay toll exemption for the vehicles of the organizations in the NGO Humanitarian Coordination.

  2. On-time information.
International organizations should increase the level of cooperation with the domestic organizations, while the information for the undertaken or planned activities to be accessible for the domestic organizations as well.
